Amongst many mouthwatering dishes (that really can suit all budgets) you can find a number of traditional local foods such as:
Raclette is a superb meal to enjoy with friends or family. A hot plate is the centre of attention where you can cook a whole host of items such as; mushrooms, local meats, eggs etc. Under the hot plate is a grill for which you toast some delicious Raclette cheese to pour over potatoes.
Fondue Savoyard is a variation on Raclette but with a few role reversals! A saucpan of delicious hot cheese is brought to the table and you are invited to dip bread, meats in!
We highly recommend a bottle of local white wine to accompany these dishes!
In Tartiflette we trust! ~ A local reblochon cheese and bacon bake. Simply divine and must be tried!
Try to ask for ‘Diots in Vin Blanc’ ~ Very very good local sausages poached in cream and white wine, yum!
Braserrade is a great share and essentially consists of having a sizzling indoor bbq on the table and a great plate of thinly cut steak to cook!

Don't miss!
Some of the best places to eat in La Clusaz are the little ‘boulangeries’ which serve a wonderful variety of pastries, often still warm from the oven as all products are always cooked on the premises!
For a slightly more meaty treat visit La Maison du Jambon (the house of ham) which frankly has to be seen to be believed, needless to say, this is not for vegetarians, the meats are delicious local produce prepared in traditional fashion.
And there's always the local market for superb cheeses, hams and much much more!
